About

Confluence Collective, LLC was founded in Southwest Colorado by a local river guide, Monica Nigon, as a means of addressing degraded watersheds as a result of drought and overuse. A degraded watershed - one which can no longer store water or access its floodplain - means unmitigated erosion of sediment that ends up in our rivers and reservoirs, affecting everything from the quality of the water we drink to the amount of water available for municipal and agricultural needs.

Monica sought to assist in restoring damaged watersheds in the Southwest by building  low-tech process-based restoration structures. The hope is to fix just one drainage at a time, which will eventually result in turning otherwise segmented systems into a fully functioning connected watershed.
